Course Description
We are now lawyering in the Technology Age with laptop offices and Zoom trials creating greater concerns around competence, communication, and cybersecurity. Keeping abreast of changes and fulfilling ethical obligations are imperative. Integrating technology into law firms, may have once been a choice; but today, it has become mandatory. Attorneys have turned to the internet and in particular, social media, to market their practices and communicate with clients. There are IT departments and practice management software, and clients’ information is stored in the cloud. Attorneys must walk a tight rope to secure data, guard confidence, comply with discover and so much more in this fast-paced technology race. Like everything else, there are risks and rewards, as attorneys implement systems to meet the constant evolution of new technologies, they must remain compliant with the Rules of Professional Conduct.
